The bulls offered for sale thru the Optimum Beef Bulls Program, are developed together in large pastures, on free choice soybean hull pellets and bermuda grass hay. They are tested for gaining ability for 112 days and the results from the 2007 gain test are published in the 112 Day Gain Report. During the gain test, they are ultrasound scanned for carcass merit and also complete a comprehensive breeding efficency exam. All are DNA tested to further determine carcass merit and to determine if they are homozygous black or if they carry the red color gene.
